Social Media Club NYC's September meeting,

At Weber Shandwick

919 Third Avenue
New York NY 10022

Preregistration required for entry to the building.

  1. Group Discussion: SMC Is back in NYC - what kind of meetings do you want?
  2. Main Meeting Topic: Are you a Blogger or a Journalist?

How do we define what we do when we write, report, video or audio capture an event? There are legal issues, moral and code of conduct issues. This may seem like an "old" topic but we have a new spin on it.

Author of the Columbia Journalism Review article "The Big Tent" (http://www.cjr.org/essay/the_bigger_tent_1.php) professor Ann Cooper will join us for a discussion and help us figure out where we all stand. We also have Dan Patterson from ABC News.

This event presented in cooperation with the NYSIA Digital Media Special Interest Group.

Special thanks to Weber Shandwick and their ScreenGrab practice for hosting this event. Courtesy of Weber, refreshments and snacks will be provided.
